Dec 26, 2007 · Are sheepshead good to eat? We're in Destin, Florida for Christmas vacation and caught sheepshead, black drum and red drum. Heck of a fun time for a guy that's barely been out of Oklahoma! Just wondering how they are on the table. Caught the fish at a bridge, 19 fish in all, using shrimp and Berkley Gulp artificials.

Jan 5, 2008 · What's this talk about sheepshead being trash fish. Living in New Orleans myself, I never go out intending to target sheeps, but when I catch em, the go in the cooler. Some of the whitest and best tasting meat around. They are great fried or thrown on the grill. The other good use is the mock crab meat. Great mock crab cakes.

In times when they're schooling, I always slice the red meat off to avoid the strong oily flavor when they're feeding on shad. Some like the flavor, but I prefer the sweet ...

Mar 24, 2022 · Kind of hard to find a way to cook them that is bad. Deep frying will probably be the favorite, and is a good way to do whole fish. Make some slashes down each side. Lately been making fillets on a griddle. Steaming will work good. Smoked, blackened, grilled, it’s all good.

Dec 23, 2010 · If you are talking about yellow perch (which look like little walleyes) closest lake I know of is Lake Anita in Corning Iowa. Use to have a really good population of yellow perch and good size too. About 2 hour drive from K.C.

Mar 7, 2005 · People eat sturgeon eggs and call it caviar and pay a chit load for it. I guess if they can eat sturgeon eggs, crappie eggs should be just as good too! To me it seems like it would have a very fishy taste to it. I might just stick with the fillets and give all them innards to the dog. :D
