Oct 2, 2024 · The world Blade Runner created was pretty much the prototype for what would become cyberpunk, especially visually. The visuals are a strike against 2049 in my book too. Don't get me wrong, it's beautifully shot, and I know that the look of the world is deliberately run down; I just don't find it as striking or interesting as the original.

Hell, even Blade Runner 2049 has a slight nod to the theory when we see an eerily similar Sulacco looking ship as K leaves the city.

So, I wouldn't be against something that would allow the user to choose among the released versions what experience they want. Like the edit from one version, but the color grading of another? You've got it!

Apr 13, 2025 · I believe they removed the sloth victim's mistakenly visible arm in the recent Se7en remaster. That used to take me out of the film every time I watched it, so for little things like that I'm okay with fixes. There's a similar shot in Predator, and it's incredibly distracting. I was also fine with them changing that shot at the end of Blade Runner.
