Theft is a term used to describe a crime that involves taking a person’s property without his consent. In the law, the term theft encompasses more than one act, but in order for an action to be considered theft, two key elements must be met.

(2) It is immaterial whether the appropriation is made with a view to gain, or is made for the thief’s own benefit.
