Which is better? "Ringu" vs. "The Ring" : r/horror - Reddit
Oct 17, 2013 · The Ring (2002) is one of my favorite horror movies and one I can return to time and time again. Having watched Ring (1998) it is impossible not to compare the two. They both contain elements that are better than the other. The American adaptation feels simplified, however, at times this works better for the film. Horror often relies on unanswered questions, …
Can someone explain why The Ring (2002) is so Highly Regarded?
Feb 15, 2022 · Can someone explain why The Ring (2002) is so Highly Regarded? No disrespect to the fans, seriously I'm here to learn. I recall not being impressed with The Ring when I first saw it 10 years ago. I rewatched it this weekend and couldn't have been more bored or turned off from the whole thing.
Ringu (1998) vs The Ring (2002) : r/horror - Reddit
Aug 3, 2019 · The Ring, on the other hand, is one of my favorite horror films of all time. Ringu's characters are not quite as fleshed out, and I honestly prefer several aspects of The Ring to Ringu. First, and foremost, I like that The Ring leaves the ultimate interpretation of what "Samara" is, up to the viewer. No easy answers are given.
My thoughts on Ringu (1998) vs The Ring (2002), and why I
Aug 25, 2022 · My thoughts on Ringu (1998) vs The Ring (2002), and why I disliked the latter. I've never been much of a movie watcher, much less so of the horror genre, but I was recently in the mood and decided to binge about a dozen of them. One of these movies was Ringu (1998), and subsequently its American remake The Ring (2002).
"The Ring" (2002) Appreciation Thread : r/horror - Reddit
Sep 30, 2017 · I first watched The Ring on a Friday night. The theater was packed with teenagers who talked, giggled and generally didn’t pay attention. By the middle of the film the whole room was dead silent. And at the final scene spoiler The Ring is probably my favorite horror movie for many reasons, but my first viewing cemented my love for it.
REMAKE DISCUSSION: The Ring (2002) | Short Opinion Piece …
Jan 29, 2024 · First of all: The Ring… this movie didn’t click with me because I’d watched Ring (1998) & The Ring Virus (1999) so my opinion of The Ring (2002) is probably the most controversial in this post.
Which do you prefer, Ringu (1998) or The Ring (2002)? - Reddit
The ring just did everything else better in my opinion. I hated that Ringu relied on the clairvoyant stuff. Both great movies but 2002 takes the cake Reply reply More replies Technical-Arm7699 • Ringu is my favorite, but The Ring isn't a bad adaptation at all, in my opinion was one of the best American remake of J-Horrors Reply reply ...
The Ring (2002) is a modern horror classic : r/movies - Reddit
The Ring is a weird one in that aesthetically most it does appear timeless. except the entire VHS plot point. and the internet/going to a library. compare that to Scooby Doo from the same year which definitely doesn’t seem modern. and seems much more of a different time than The Ring.

Which do you people like better The Ring (2002) or Ringu (1998)?
The Ring is the American version of Ringu which is based off of the Ring books written by Koji Suzuki. (BTW those books are good as hell). Personally, I like Ringu better. Maybe it’s because it is a lot quieter and has much more suspense to it. However, I do appreciate The Ring and everything it has done for not just horror, but movies as a whole.
