Other than that it's not a bad thing. If you find, say, some OP boots in a loot chest and they also have Curse of Binding, you probably would put them on anyway! One way to remove an unwanted item with Curse of Binding, without dying, is to bump yourself against a cactus over and over until the armour item loses durability and breaks.

So basically, after you die, any armor with the curse of binding on it will not be removed from your inventory but stay with you when you respawn, with the curse of binding removed. This is balanced, as the curse of binding is really annoying, and you have to make a decision on the armor you're going to wear until you die.
