    The answer is yes. The disc is a jelly-like material present in between the vertebrae, that reduces the friction between the bones. In certain conditions like degeneration of the spine, the disc space reduces and eventually, it gets bulged outwards compressing the nerves, causing pain. This can heal by itself in most cases. Maybe some amount of physical therapy would be required. However, if not improved, consider medications and surgery.
