Will DHCS provide funding for Behavioral Health Bridge housing?Although the intent of this proposal is to make funding available immediately for behavioral health bridge housing, the additional capacity DHCS has to immediately develop key program modifications to BH‑CIP (if necessary) and ultimately disburse the proposal’s funds to counties is unclear.
Are behavioral health bridge housing options still available? While the behavioral health bridge housing options funded by the proposal are intended to serve as a temporary housing option until longer‑term housing options funded by other state investments come online, there likely would be some need to continue operating these bridge housing settings once state funding is exhausted.
Can behavioral health bridge homelessness? The activities funded by this proposal—providing behavioral health bridge housing to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness with significant behavioral health needs—could be considered by the federal government as evidence of this commitment and help contribute to the state’s application for this demonstration opportunity.
What if a county behavioral health agency is awarded a BHA program? If your county behavioral health agency’s (BHA's) program is awarded, these service details and funds will be in addition to those included in the Round 1 application, contract, and BHBH Program Plan. Please submit all questions related to the budget or budget instructions here.
What is a behavioral health grant?Grants will address housing instability and homelessness among people with serious behavioral health conditions. Funding will support an array of housing options including tiny homes, rental assistance programs and assisted living settings.
