We were staying at the hotel where the pink pony is located so we are here several times on our trip, 2 takeout breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 dinners. Breakfasts were good and fast but it doesn’t open until 8:00 which is a bummer for...early risers. Lunch was good but there was still a short wait for a table, about 45 minutes. Our first dinner experience was excellent, the wait was 60-75 minutes but this was accurate and we ended up being seated just a little over an hour after we put our name in. The service was always fast and friendly and we loved the whitefish tacos. We tried to eat here the second night, too and ended up going somewhere else since our table took at least 30 minutes longer than we had been told. We gave it one more shot on our last night and this is when things went downhill. We were told 75-90 minutes and it ended up taking 2.5 hours to be seated. Not fun when you have hungry kids in your party. At this point, it was too late to get a reservation anywhere else so we just had to bite the bullet and wait. When my husband went up to check on the table at the 2 hour mark (7:00pm) he told the host that we were told 75-90 minutes and that it had been two hours. She said “actually it’s been 1 hour and 58 minutes” super rude. We also had ordered several drinks at the patio bar over the course of our stay and the bartender was very friendly. I am giving the 4 star review for the rest of the wonderful staff that we encountered and delicious food.

We ate there for lunch. 2 teenaged girls and parents. Girls both got chicken Caesar salads. Not unusual for them, the salads were not huge by any means and the girls ate 2/3 of them. They said they were ok but not great. We did...the buffalo chicken dip appetizer and that was great!! Parents perderes chicken nachos and shrimp poorboy sandwich. Should have just ordered one of those, it was too much food. However I will add there was not enough remoulade sauce on the sandwich. It wasn’t bad but more sauce could have made it great. The nachos are made with cheddar cheese. I love cheddar cheese but on machões it was placed on the tip later if chips. This meant as it cooled the chips were stuck together and you could not easily separate them and enjoy the fish. The chicken as fine but not anything special. Not blackened or seasoned in any noticeable way. All in all it’s the least favorite of our meals this week. Love the location and sitting on the deck. Service was good, our server was pleasant and made a beer recommendation that was local and enjoyable. Still I would not likely return. Food was average when we have had great meals at other places.

I don't write a lot of bad reviews, but this time I need to. My husband and I stopped in on a Wednesday night after a walk on the beach to get some nachos. We've been to the Pink Pony before and had no problems. We were immediately greeted and seated outside. And... that was the end of it. After waiting a while, I looked at my watch and it was 7:26. At least four employees passed us several times. Not a single one of them spoke to us, looked at us or acknowledged us in any way. I even asked my husband if he was wearing camo because we were apparently invisible. haha I wanted to stand up and ask everyone if they knew any place around there we could get some food, but I refrained. I was trying to keep some humor in it! At one point, we leaned our menus against the umbrella pole hoping that would attract some attention. One server did look at the menus as she whizzed by but we still waited for someone to even offer us drinks. Finally at 7:50 I carried the menus in and gave them back to the hostess. I told her we had waited 20 minutes and no one even spoke to us so we were going to go. She apologized and put our menus away. Others were getting great service so I'm not sure what the problem was. Maybe no one knew it was their table? In any case, we walked down to The Hangout and were greeted, seated and welcomed by the server immediately. I guess it was just a bad night for us at the Pink Pony.

My fave place in Gulf Shores! Small place with amazing beach view! Staff was excellent! Food & drinks were terrific and incredibly priced compared to other places!
