    The Treaty of Pondicherry was signed in 1754 bringing an end to the Second Carnatic War. It was agreed and signed in the French settlement of Puducherry in French India.
    The war ended with the Treaty of Pondicherry in 1755 leading to Muhammad Ali being installed as the Nawab of the Carnatic. As per the treaty, the English and the French were to indulge only in commercial activities in India and not interfere in sub-continental political affairs.
    The Second Carnatic War ended in 1754 with the signing of the Treaty of Pondicherry. Puducherry, a French outpost in French India, served as the location of the agreement’s signing. The favoured British candidate, Mohamed Ali Khan Walajan, was appointed Nawab of the Carnatic.
